Theists would be about the furthest thing from my mind. But I hold the discovery of extraterrestrial life, single or multicellular, or something aside from cellular, to be the most impactful thing that could happen in my life. It's all about aliens. 
I learn about the rise of life, animals, animal behavior, intelligence, and technology on Earth and relate it to pondering about the universe immediately. (There certainly wont be ammonites or mammoths on Mars, of course.)
