The Metatrix convinced me that those yellows were awfully loud. She was right, too. We'd need more than one house here in primary colors to make it look like Balamory!

We decided instead on a curious shade of red, called Tanager, after the bird. In some lights, it seems orange. In other light, much more red. We like it a lot.

I'd have never chosen that original color scheme.

Aside from the paint, the south facing siding was really cracked and had to be replaced. Cedar. That added $15K to the paint job. Glad we had it to do the work.

The original builder was a joke. The guys we hired found and resolved hidden damage that would have never happened if done right the first time. No harm to the building frame yet, we caught it in time. I wish they had built the place.
