To be sure, my tone with those two bastards was brutal. I have a superb command voice, and I spared nothing.
It was the realization that it was nothing other than our dumb luck that saved my family from these assholes that drove it. I desperately wanted to punish the sawyer. Had I been armed, it would've taken serious discipline to not blast him off of that tree trunk when he started swearing at me for the shellacking I gave him. As it was, I was constantly evaluating the situation if he decided to hop down off that tree and have a go.
I haven't felt the lizard brain hit like that in a very long time. It's pretty traumatizing, all by itself.
