Just had a leg of lamb for Sunday dinner and gave the dog the bone to chew. I thought she'd nibble daintily at the scraps of meat left on it, lick it to death and that would be about it but no: she crunched it up and swallowed it all. By the time I noticed it was too late to stop her. The bone was about the size of a fist.

I'm a little bit worried now. Can dogs scoff lamb bones without any ill effects?
