This would be funny, except this person represents the views of a large and possibly growing number of people in the USA.

Some of the people just elected to Congress are as stupid, and as proud of their stupidity, as this woman.

Where I live, the newly elected Republican Governor promised more "school freedom," which means funneling public tax dollars into Christian schools and normalizing home schooling. This must be done to combat the liberal brainwashing of public schools that teach satanic lies about an old earth and slander the Founding Fathers (who were all fundamentalist Christians). This ensures more Megan Foxes gaining power and influence over education.

Someone may ask, "How could anyone be this proud of their ignorance?"

It's the product of what I refer to as Inverse Skepticism. When you begin with the axiom that the Bible is true and correct, then your natural skepticism is diverted into everything that threatens that axiom. So you become hyper-skeptical about everything except the Bible. In this USA, this is particularly directed toward nebulous entities known as "the government" and "the media." You imagine that the only thing preventing everyone from being fundamentalist Christians like yourself are the evil lies and propaganda issued by "the government" and "the media." It is just a short step from there to everything about science being an evil lie as well. All of it is a conspiracy to prevent people from seeing the One Truth of Christian fundamentalism.
