The criticisms and the opinions that oppose evolution and company come from a foundation of an historic alternative.
In short the bible. Muslims a little too but thats different.
Then the bible belief comes from those who historically most believed in the bible. That is the evangelical, now called, wing of protestantism.
Then this added by the high intelligence of the English speaking world, relative to others, leads to the great and satisfying truth of creationism being highly successful in North America.
As we would see it IT is as it should be. the truth should most be discovered and untruth most resisted by the most advanced people.

Evolution should cut its losses and start over in Timbukto.
