To be fair, you do have half, or maybe a quarter of a point hiding somewhere in the OP this time. There is a lot of dodgy and pseudo- science mixed in with the valid stuff in some fields and this isn't exclusive to psychiatry or even psychology, it's true of social science in general, if not more widely.

Exactly how this discussion is aided by flamebait about Bill Nye being angry, I could not say.
I remember reading a meta-analysis (australian, I think) showing that 85% of studies on psychology had results that could not be reproduced. But just like you, I don't think this is where the OP wanted to go.
