As usual, you forget/ignore the years of struggle that made policies like "No blacks served" socially unacceptable, LONG after it was made illegal.
Btw, what kind of idiot would refuse people that will pay not to use the service??
He clearly believes he's doing the right thing, and must be doing well enough that it's more worthwhile to cater to his preferred patrons than it is to take money from people he doesn't want to show up in his gym.
So much for your "ruin their business by refusing to serve" theory.
