The American Humanist Association, a group that works to protect the rights of humanists, atheists and other non-religious Americans, and the Freedom From Religion Foundation filed a lawsuit in 2016 on behalf of four Escambia County residents who said the cross at Bayview Park violated the separation of church and state.


A cross was erected in a city park in 1941, then replaced in 1969 by a social organization and maintained by the City of Pensacola for the last 48 years was ruled unconstitutional by a federal judge on Monday. Finally.

The residents are, predictably, going apeshit over it. My favorites are the ones who claim that anyone who objects to "our religion" should move to another country! :roll:
