I am not seeing a remarkable coincidence in a pamphlet displayed in a church referencing the same topic source which the pastor is preaching that week.

Your "unrelated" sources don't seem very independent. Consider the possibility that your pastor pays attention to the same sources of inspiration you might while determining what to say and what to display.

That was exactly my thought too!

All religions spend massive amounts of time and effort keeping people in the faith, and the faithful have always wavered and worried about losing their faith.

Add that to the fact that people don't choose "And if you have a red spot with a white edge, you shall spend three days in the temple" or "Jehosephat begat Begorra" (or whatever) as Quotes of the Day, or to write pamphlets about, the things you're seeing are absolutely not independent or truly random; you're drawing from a doctored pack from the outset.
