But I had a similar reaction when I read that Slayer are Christian. That's just twisted. I didn't want to know that. Not that I'm a Slayer fan but   How can they believe that Jesus Christ died for their sins, and release that artwork and shit. What the fucking hell?

I don't think they really have anything to do with each other. Araya says they were using scary images to scare people and fuck with them, make them wonder. They were contrasting themselves with all the glam metal stuff that was popular, which they saw as being very "pretty". They were trying to be "ugly". It's all about the imagery intensifying the music. Even openly Christian death metal bands don't put baskets of puppies on their covers, you know?
I do now.
Slayer succeeded in ugly. I'd say they went above and beyond with the horse heads, raining blood, pentagrams, etc. I doubt their church choir would approve. :dopey:

Probably not. But they have an interesting perspective, was just listening to an interview with Kerry King. Was asked about whatever song got them in trouble because of Nazi imagery or topics, he pointed out that they don't ask the History Channel if they're Nazis if they do a show on Nazi Germany
