Cue that meme of the guy trying to figure out what to say, but can't quite figure out where to begin.
But I had a similar reaction when I read that Slayer are Christian. That's just twisted. I didn't want to know that. Not that I'm a Slayer fan but   How can they believe that Jesus Christ died for their sins, and release that artwork and shit. What the fucking hell?

No, you’re not singling me out, since I wrote that you’re certainly free to comment on it.

Yes I know, my post may appear to be at odds with being an atheist.

You already probably know this, but I was a fundie for much of my life. I don’t harbour any ill-will towards Xtians or the people that I was involved with.

I broke away from their ideology, but it was very hard to break away from them. They were good to me and for that I am grateful to them.

There is a definite void in my life now. With them I had a sense of belonging, camaraderie, people that I could turn to during times of crisis and so on. I’d be very hard pressed to speak derogatorily about them. Christianity can be destructive and bigoted, but (from my personal experience with them) I didn’t experience any of that. They were really good and decent people.
