Interesting thing about Matthew's geneology is that the author attempts to fit everything into three groups of fourteen, his point being that every fourteenth generation experiences some radically important event (rise of the Davidic line, Babylonian exile, arrival of Christ). He fudges things quite a bit in order to make this work, but somehow totally fails to realize that his last group of fourteen only includes thirteen names!
