Given the number of instances that have come to light recently, of children's toys with, ahem, unintended design features, you would think that someone would put together special classes, aimed at steering toy designers away from producing something that looks as if it belongs in a bad porn movie ... 
Though I am reminded at this juncture, of a comment made by an acquaintance familiar with the business of ergonomics. Who told me that one of the undeclared rules of thumb that frequently applies, with respect to the world of hand held devices, is that if your object shares its essential dimensions, and at least some of its tactile characteristics, with an erect penis, it's far more likely to gain acceptance, and be regarded as convenient and intuitive to use.
