Well, I think it's fair to see that's not always the case. Testacles in a less exposed place would be a great start.


If they were protected all the time then the temperature would rise and fertility would drop - so there is a feedback loop.
Intelligent design would have put the testicles inside the body and replaced the scrotum with a radiator, like elephants' ears.

But since babies are sometimes born without a prepuce and no other defects, that would have evolved to become the norm if it conferred an overall advantage.
