Actually, do you know what, I think you're right, that you're wrong. Semiotics has to do with signs, not necessarily words.

I'm sticking with 'semantics' and taking it as a trick question on the teacher's part. :)


Semiotics is a subset of semantics anyway. I can't think of a better answer than "semantics".

And yeah, I'd expect a trick question here.
