having developed a visceral loathing and immobilising fear of the religious, i was fortunately immune from the blandishments of these charlatans. i had hell's own game getting rid of a pair of mormon's, eventually cravenly begging a friend to see them off. infected by the virus of 'respect' for all things holy, especially the sales force, the ensuing years were mostly blessedly free from their taint; just the odd screwball turning up at the door to be seen off pronto. i can't be doing with trying to educate the ineducable.

i feel immense gratitude to those very people who subjected me to their particular brand of putrid indoctrination for engendering such powerful resistance because i was never once induced to fall for the charms of those who would ensnare me.

after sorting through the resulting confusion, it has now become fun to laugh at their antics as they seek to persuade us of their veracity and purity, ho ho.

i feel immense schadenfreude at the discomfiture of the leaders of these brigades blatantly engaging in damage limitation, led by the german clerk. what a hoot it is to see them attempt to defend the indefensible.

all the poor people who fell for their blandishments, paid up bigtime and still adhere have my undying sympathy for their predicament. how are they to give up what has become part of their identity? of those who have managed to break away, some must be experiencing an odd disconnect similar to the loss of a limb.

when enough of the young have rejected dogma in favour of evidence, the elders can safely be left to die out, though it will take a while, being replaced by more benign forms of woo, such as paganism.

perhaps then we could turn all the temples into general meeting places for the community because we have precious few of them currently. my local church could be ideal for such a thing and in ten years i've never set foot in the place.

hell, why don't we simply move in and take over? dammit, we pay for the bloody things and get not a lick of use out of them. they'd make brilliant lecture halls with the prof in the pulpit.
