I go on a couple of muslim forums and when stuff like this comes upthere's usually a few people (teeagers) go 'wow that's amazing' but the older ones usually point out the errors and sometimes add allegations of bidah.
I find a certain group/sector of Islam to fall for this form of nonsense (most likely the same ones as you stated)
However, many non-believers have been seen to fall for these claims aswell and convert to Islam on false grounds.
