I personally would keep the ".org" but perhaps we could take it more to the background. Your other adjustments are great. I changed my original files accordingly (click here for demo).
I'd keep the '.org', too. That way potential new members don't even have to look us up. Also, it'd help avoid confusion with www.rationalskepticism.com.
