An atheist is simply someone who doesn't believe in God. Nothing more nothing less.
I understand it would be lovely for the credulous to try and pretend it is a religion so that we are all on the same side and are just arguing about who's religion is 'best' but it really doesn't work that way I'm afraid.
Anyway /derail please.
