To answer your question Gallstones (and thanks for caring BTW
), the decision was made how it should be - pick the best person for the job available at the time. Fallible has a number of very favourable personal qualities and real life experience that make her the best choice for the role. It's really that simple. Fallible has my full support, as well as the support of her peers and colleagues. I expect that she will do a sterling job.
My only reservation is that I may not be able to get away with referring to her husband as "In-fallible" from now on.
