We have a health campaign at work just now and they been advising something similar - 4 minute intensive bursts of exercise (at approx 80% of your recommended maximum heart rate) with a minutes rest. Reasonably fit people should try to repeat this four times in one session. Number of days per week is up to the individual. Anyway, I'm doing this on my spinning bike at home and combining it with normal cycling to work and will see how it goes. For me it's much more about weight control than fitness although I do feel much better generally whilst I'm doing plenty of exercise.

Three minutes a week to keep fit ? I'm pretty sceptical on that. Unfortunately I'll have to try to watch the programme later as the wife is watching (cringe) Big Fat Gypsy Weddings. :yuk:
