No, of course not. I was pointing out that there was a reason for it (being repulsed by it), not that it was a good reason.

I can think of another (poor) reason - because the authors of the bible were obsessed with imposing prim and proper/chaste sexual relations....deviation from their model of any kind was severely frowned upon.
