His one on the Spartan story, King of Kings, is interesting. He starts off talking about the Spartans at Thermopylae and their stand against the Persians and then asks who were these Persians? He then travels back a few generations and starts talking about the Assyrians, Babylonians, Lydians, Medes and steppe people. An hour and a half later he's only getting back to the Persians and making his point.
