Well, the biggest advantage was that I could turn a very underpowered laptop into a pretty snappy one, which was very usable for the kind of stuff I was doing at the time, but not anymore.
wmii is still very simple compared to the major desktops, but it seems to be on par featurewise with xmonad, at least from a quick glance on youtube.
Wat? Emacs is not already developing itself into a new paradigm for the 21st century?
