Is there? I doubt that there is "awareness" of gap. Awareness of gap would be something you were aware of. In your clumsy terminology, an object of awareness.

Besides that, you don't believe in in time as Real, it's just part of experience. Therefore even if you did experience gaps without experiencing them, so that empty static awareness was occuring, it wouldn't real down-time, only an experience as if there was a gap.

So however you look at it you can't tell if there is empty static awareness. It just an assumption you make.

Little Idiot wrote:As the gap gets longer or if thoughts no longer arise then the field is empty of objects. Without objects there is no clear sense of time and no clear boundary - but unlike sleep there is awareness.

It is quite reasonable to suppose that a dynamic process can operate without detecting literal objects (trees etc) and may lose track of time or boundary. Of course. Why not? Nothing about that show there is "static awareness".

Little Idiot wrote:This gap between individual thoughts is there before each thought, between individual thoughts and after thoughts end, one gap indistinguishable from another. It doesn't depend on thoughts and therefore not on the process of thinking. It is more static than the thoughts and the process.

I think you are inferring a gap in that you come to notice that you don't know what you were thinking or experiencing a moment ago, so you infer there was a gap.

Of course in my view gaps in awareness are very reasonable, since it only requires a pause in the processes that were generating experience. Like a tape recorder on pause, if it isn't running there is objectively a gap. Subjectively, in terms of the recording, discontinuities may indicate there was a gap, but no recording of gap will exist.

Little Idiot wrote:The field in which thoughts arise, remain and leave is also there when the object is present, although it is harder to notice.

This "field" is pure magical thinking on your part. Thoughts and perceptions just float up out of this field with no work being done? That's crazy and without justification. You have no evidence for any awareness field nor of such a field being responsible for generating thoughts and experiences.

Little Idiot wrote:The field can't be observed to start or stop, nor can its limitations be found.

Naturally, because there is no such thing. Still, if there was, a field of awareness, how could it not be aware of it's own function? If it literally IS awareness itself, inner space spinning the world as "ideation", how could it knot know it was doing it? It akin to saying that a conscious person composing music, or baking cakes, just discovers the product with zero knowledge of doing anything to bring it about. It's not awareness doing if there is no awareness of doing it.

Little Idiot wrote:Conclusion there is a distinct more static awareness.

Fail. That does not follow and the concept remains incoherent.
