Someone with a low degree of self control may not want the kindness of strangers while someone with a high degree of self control may be able to get what they want without depending up on someone else. But it all depends on what form the self control actually takes. The devil is in the detail. Someone who has a high degree of self control in one area may have a low degree of self control in another. No one is entirely in control all of the time
