I wouldn’t but I can see that some people might value thousands more years of human wonder and awe at the painting over the death of an anonymous animal. Such an attitude may disturb me but I would be interested to see the gamut of reactions because I think that the preservation of great cultural treasures might blur the line in some people’s moral compass.
