Would you rather burn the mona lisa or a dog or send kir to prison for a year for mildly beating up a woman beater
who severely assaulted his then fiance after the police had decided not to take any action about said assault ?

You are not the bloody police. You see a crime being committed you cannot just get involved hoping that your sense of moral outrage will make the magistrates / judges see it your way. Technically you could claim self defence as in you were trying to stop someone from being assaulted but you are a loose cannon and too many court appearances will not bode well for you in the long term. I am rather sceptical of your use of mildly and severely in your account of what you claim happened. As it is quite obvious that you have anger issues which are not being addressed and which need to be in order to stop this behaviour of yours from becoming the norm which sad to say I think it already is

I would not send you to jail but would assign you a private therapist to deal with all your issues till you were fully recovered
[ Private because therapy on the NHS is severely time restricted so is not automatically tailored to the needs of the patient ]

Ideally I would like to send you to a monastery for five years for a spiritual detox in the middle of no where
As far away from all the negative influences in your life you now have in order to make some real progress
With yoga and exercise and work and prayer and group and one to one therapy like all the other patients
