...Kinda explains to me why I don't usually like contemporary art and why many people do.
You shouldn't have to think about art. Thinking is philosophy/reason/mathematics... etc..
Certainly, art SHOULD transcend one's time/culture/politics, otherwise it's just the politics and culture of one's time that you like about the art in question. Stop fucking abusing art, is my starting point, I guess.
