We can make a sensible one-word sentence that both starts and ends with 'so'.


On the other hand, half of the people don't know how to spell it correctly even if their lives depended on it.

'So' as a starter seems like an apt word to break an awkward silence and replace it with an awkard conversation.
"So... how's the weather there?"
"We're in the same room, Carl."
