Working on a bio bachelor myself, while finishing my Mass Media and Communication bachelor. Meanwhile I work as a barkeep/barista/waiter as well as freelance journalist and editor to pay my bills.
I still have no idea what I want to do with my degrees once I have them, although I am 26 already.
All I can really say is: Work towards getting the job you can imagine doing for at least a decade, while at the same time being able to feed yourself and have a roof over your head without getting into debts for the next 50 years.
Seems to me like quite the reasonable approach.
