Yeah, as a comparison within Marvel itself, in the mainstream they have introduced Silk. A woman who got bit by the same spider that bit Spiderman, and was tucked away since then.
Then there is SpiderGwen, from an alternate universe with her own story and mythos where Gwen Stacy got bit instead of Parker.
Both have been pretty well received.
And of course there are female spider characters that simply need a good writer and some attention from the company.
There are ways to do it that work better.
Or when they switched out Peter Parker for Miles Morales.
I actually have enjoyed the run so far, despite my issue with it.
Just a few things could have been done differently.
