And it frequently appears in lists of "worst Bond movies".

There are missteps (e.g. the return of Sheriff Pepper (from Live and Let Die), the slide-whistle sound effect marring the brilliant 'corkscrew' car stunt, the waste of gorgeous Britt Ekland in a bimbo role, and Bond's unnecessary brutalization of Andrea Anders), but there are plus-points...

* Christopher Lee as Scaramanga, an 'anti-Bond' almost as formidable as Bond himself.
* Herve Villechaize as the memorable henchman 'Nick Nack'.
* exotic scenery, especially in Thailand's Phang Nga Bay.
* topnotch FX work by Derek Meddings and others (e.g. Scaramanga's flying car, and the climactic island destruction sequence).
* Lulu's opening song (some hate it, I love it).

It's one of my all-time favorite Bond movies.
