It was probably always critically acclaimed, I just use any excuse to talk about it.
I was at uni when it came out, and saw it in the week of release based on excellent reviews. I may have seen it a few (dozen) times since. Lockdown has brought us to the point where it's on top of the list of films for our next family movie night with our older teenagers, who are sick of listening to their parents reference or quote it without having seen it themselves.My daughter is equally exasperated but won’t watch it, because obviously anything the two squares enjoy isn’t going to be worth the time of a hip up and coming 19-year-old.
