Nope, just don’t like it. It is not done in a style which I find pleasing to mine eye. The colours are all wrong, and it’s what I would term gaudy. It’s the sort of thing you would have found on my granny’s mantelpiece, my granny who never had two ha’pennies to rub together. Vulgar, like my family. Do you also have a Blue Lady picture? Perhaps two ceramic spaniels flanking the gas fire? I’m the proud owner of one (there were two until one fell down the stairs) cerise vase with two gilt handles and a lovely oval portrait of Joan of Arc on it. The other had King James II. Lovely Catholic tat. They are old, since they’ve been in the family for over a hundred years. They’re still the cheapest of cheap tut. They can’t not be, my family were penniless nobodies. My grandad was an actual spiv in the war, he was considered to have done well for himself. I would be embarrassed to put this vase up for sale. Still, try it. See how far it gets you.
