In the Hollywood version, the wasps start to lay their eggs in humans. An attempted genetic modification goes horribly wrong and the wasps become huge and start attacking the human population who turn into violent zombies once stung. Many "alternative healing" types will see this as a documentary and protest the ebil scientists.
