I thought Bale did a pretty decent Batman. The most important aspect of the Batman character, for me, is that Batman is the real persona - a fundamentally deranged fucker half a shade of perspective from being a supervillain - and Bruce Wayne, billionaire playboy is the mask that he hides behind.
That's why Wayne's such a two-dimensional character.
I'm not sure what people want out of the Batman character. What was so shite about Bale's?
As to Affleck? Well, I haven't seen Daredevil. But given that it was so long ago, back before anyone managed to work out how to make a decent superhero movie, and given Affleck's recent work, I don't know that I'd be willing to use Daredevil as a point of judgment. He might do a great job.
Mind you, they don't seem to have worked out how to make a decent Superman movie yet - if that's even possible. So who knows?
