@2:28 the student claims "science supports his existence, you know the truth, why do you hate god?"

This is probably the gist of of the movie, and probably the most common American Christian apologist argument. It really doesn't take much thought to realise just how biased it is.

The professor is a strawman, someone who is supposedly an intelligent, well educated atheist, representative of the whole atheist argument, yet stumped by the most common misconceptions and transparent canards.

Christians in general know that science does not support their view, but would very much like to believe that it does.

Imagine the difficulties the director might have had, if the actors are smart.

"Ok now this is where the professor's expression needs to show that he is conflicted, having second thoughts, the argument is swaying him, he cannot fight the truth any longer.."

"But there hasn't been an intelligent argument yet, no educated man would be swayed by what has been said"

"doesn't matter, the audience will want to see him being swayed at this point, play to the audiences desires, screw reality."
