If it had been a superhero movie, George Clooney would have had to have a fist fight with a Chinese astronaut (Taikonaut?) to gain access to the escape capsule, and then after blowing his adversary out of the airlock, would have had to re-fight him one last time (coz he wasn't really dead) duking it out as they balanced on the solar panels during re-entry, which would have ended in a splashdown in the Hudson river within sight of the statue of liberty, but the final shot showing an empty Chinese spacesuit being found by kids on the Jersey shore....
So, by those standards, it wasn't a bad film.
(P.S., Sandra Bullock omitted in this re-imagining, as she is, well, you know, a girl...)
