From the very beginning of the film pretty much I started to dislike it and then it just went downhill from there for me though loads of people loved it and it got great reviews.

For me, it went to far and I couldn't take it seriously. Clooney cowboy'ing around on his jet-pack, spinning on an object only makes you spin whilst you on that object - let go and you stop! A fire extinguisher as a thruster to get from one point of space to another from someone who had 6 months training (iirc) and let's not mention the Chinese space station scene....

Can you be more detailed here?

Once you acquire momentum, rotational or linear, you maintain it, even if you let go of whatever gave you the momentum in the first place.

It's been a while but iirc, after the explosion or whatever she's stuck on this piece of wreckage and spinning around and Clooney is talking to her telling her what to do and as she spins away and moving away I think. He tells her to let go or something and she does and stops as the wreckage keeps going.

There's another part (spoiler alert) where after Clooney fails to catch hold of the Chinese space station she tries to get into it as quick as she can to try and catch him before he's out of range. Entering the airlock, one can only guess at why she had to float for a few fucking hours in a fetal position right by the airlock (that might be a reality that it takes that long but it didn't really go with the urgency of the situation and again, it's been a while so I may to be recalling it right)
