Choppy animation is the American way, probably for budget reasons. Even when they outsource the work to animators in Korea (like for this show), I’m sure budgeting is behind the choppiness, rather than lack of ability. American audiences are weaned on bad animation, so there’s no incentive to shift standards. I find most American animated ‘action’ shows (the kind with ‘realistic’ character design, like superhero shows) unwatchable bc of this flip-book quality, where the flip-book has a lot of pages missing.
