Agreed, but reverb rarely sounds good if you can hear it.

But generally i agree reverb can sound terrible, i have a friend who is nervous about his vocals and doesnt seem to realise it sounds worse...


If overused, certainly. The idea with reverb in production is to bring all the instruments into the same room. There has been a tendency to add more to the vocal, which is one of the reasons that the modern paradigm has been to have the vocal sitting above the rest of the mix, which is horrible, IMO. All parts should be subservient to the mix.
