I heard a press conference where Bowie was debuting that album, and on that track they had all the band members switch instruments so they could play with the enthusiasm of someone who's just discovered rock 'n roll. The one exception was Belew who, as Bowie said, "Has the remarkable ability to sound like he's never seen a guitar before. I know he'll take that as a compliment."
