i just went to NW Airfield to practice my sniping, did not go well at all, spent like 5 minutes looking at 2 dudes and estimating the distance (about 500 meters) and after a few failures to hit i retreated 
it was weird, i had no trouble hitting zombies at similar distances but the shots went all over the place, one of the shots i took hit a zombie that ran right infront of one of the guys i was shooting
