Youth gambling has quadrupled in the last two years, perhaps largely because they're ubiquitously on offer in respectable establishments (not bookies; the place where mum buys the groceries). Gambling is A ok! Buy a scratchcard along with your free-range eggs!

I heard that loot boxes in games might have something to do with the rise in youth gambling. This is just something I heard, of course. I don't have the links or anything to back that up right now. Just imagine we're in the pub talking about it.

But, yeah, I see scratch cards as more of the gossip magazines of gambling, whereas betting is more like the tabloids. Then you've got baccarat and poker, which are like the broadsheets or something. You wouldn't play baccarat at the bookies, would you? I don't know. I've never been.
