I don't get the point, though. They compare this with the other incident in September. But that other incident was basically the same as would happen on this new bridge: A heavy object falling on the glass would shatter the top layer, showing a spider web pattern, the glass would still be safe. Visitors would still panic and the bridge would have to be closed to repair this section of the glass.

The real problem is not the safety of the glass. I am confident that the glass is safe. The problem is how to control hysteric masses that fear it is not safe.
