I wonder how that crossing looks from the other side, and if it's possible to do one that works from both directions.

I also wonder how they'd go where I live. We're in the middle of a national marriage equality postal vote, and someone coloured one of our local crossings rainbow. The local Council were out painting it back to white within hours, citing concerns that they'd potentially bear some liability for accidents on distracting, non-standards-compliant crossings. The overpainting wasn't a political reaction to the pro-equality message - the same Council is flying rainbow flags further down the street - just a freakout over standards compliance. God only knows what they'd make of one of these optical illusion crossings.
