I think the moderator could deal far more effectively with sock puppet trolls if inquisitive members alerted them from the start.

Sorry, his wording gave it away, but you can never be sure. I was just about to say I expected diagrams next when one showed up. If telling you what I suspect would help then I'll try if I spot something next time. I don't tend to make reports, though.

Yes, it helps. But, we need details: what made you think the member is a sock?

I did, as best I could - I reported electricgravity1 as a suspected sock, and mentioned his familiarity with the forum and posting style - I just didn't pick up Newstain as the source.

I reported Bernoulli months before he was actually banned.

The wheels of justice grind slowly, but they grind exceeding slow. What they grind is already small to begin with. The wheels of justice do fuck all. It's just a matter of excusing the sources of justice.

Yes, he posted in exactly the same way as Newstein (though I like Newstain better!) and then started posting diagrams in exactly the same way, which was the clincher. He even, then, moved over to the EE thread and started posting there.

It doesn't happen often, in my experience, that a sock makes it so obvious. But I'll try to warn the mods if I guess it's happening again.

At least one extra eye in a finger tip would be awesome.

Contact lenses. If you were a professional proctologist, instead of just an amateur, you'd know what I mean.

I want the doctor to take your picture, so I can look at you from inside as well...

The main biological problem with that is that an eye needs a lot of blood if it is not to fail quickly. so it wouldn't get enough at the tip of a finger. I suppose you could keep your hands in your pocket nearly all the time, but I would prefer that the extra eye was attached to a certain appendage that already has a rich blood supply. Sadly, that rules out about half the population, but I'm hoping that this idea might stand up to scrutiny. :naughty2:
