Why?

Because human beings have demonstrably found homosexuality repulsive throughout history, before the Bible and after in other cultures with no connections to the Bible. That you are willing to just assume that nobody in Greece was repulsed by homosexuality because someone won't do your homework for you is ridiculous.

SAM - are you really saying you think the authors of the bible were justified in saying homosexuality was not to be tolerated?

No, of course not. I was pointing out that there was a reason for it (being repulsed by it), not that it was a good reason.

Can you explain why some people aren't repulsed by homosexuality and others are? I can.

Until society accepts gays unconditionally the same way it does straights then those that have gay tendencies or are gay may wish to suppress or deny their sexuality even if they have no problem with it themselves. If it was completely open about the entire spectrum of sexuality this would not be a problem. Unfortunately it is not completely open which is why some feel the need to suppress or deny their sexuality and I am surprised you do not know this

I think everybody knows this, the question is whether there's secret, hidden homosexual desires that people aren't aware of. I don't think there is.

I can think of another (poor) reason - because the authors of the bible were obsessed with imposing prim and proper/chaste sexual relations....deviation from their model of any kind was severely frowned upon.

I agree man! Repression of sexual orientation is a (extremely injurious) myth IMO.

Sure, but why didn't homosexuality fit in with their prim/proper sexual relations? Why did it deviate from their model? That's what I'm getting at.

I do not think subconscious desires can be known until they become conscious regardless of whatever they might be
But denying sexuality is not something anyone should be doing because it is not something one has any control over
Because one can only control their sexual urges not the actual sexuality

And why would they object to it being their 1 husband's butthole?

I must say, KIR, how impressed I am with the way you're piling it in with these valuable insights from the social sciences.

Yes, but why does 1 husband's butthole not fit into the prudish landscape while 1 wife's pussy does?
